Marily Nika: What is AI really about?

Dr. Marily Nika left Greece for 9 months to pursue a Master's degree at the Imperial College in London. Today, 12 years later, she’s already spent 8 years in London and moved to San Francisco. She worked for Google for 8 years and now works at Meta.
|
She has experienced the growth of artificial intelligence from within, as she has been working in the field since 2013, long before Google Home, Alexa and, of course, Chat-GPT or DALL-E became a reality. In fact, she has contributed to their development, directly or indirectly.
|
With Marco Veremis, they discuss the true nature of Artificial Intelligence, the changes it will bring to our daily lives, the solutions it promises, where it outperforms humans, as well as its disadvantages.

Perceptual Robotics lands substantial pre-Series A investment to fuel its international growth. The company will use the pre-Series A round to plan its expansion into North America and Latin America, as well as double its team.

SMPnet, raises $1.4 million from Marathon Venture Capital and angel investors, including Ian Marchant. The firm says its 'cutting-edge technology revolutionises how power grids are managed across all voltage levels'. Funds will fuel its expansion to the US and Europe.

In an interview at the Delphi Economic Forum, Marcos Veremis talks about the need to adapt educational systems to new global circumstances and to change the mentality that "pushes" children towards professions with little future. He explained that reskilling and acquiring new skills should be a priority for the state and businesses.

Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems (Sunlight Group) announces the launch of the innovative ReLiFe lithium battery recycling project. According to an announcement, the project was developed in collaboration with partners and received funding of approximately €3.6 million from EIT RawMaterials, while the ReLiFe partners are also contributing €1.5 million in equity.
