AI IN PRACTICE: How to Apply AI in our Businesses

 

SEV held, Monday 12 May 2025, the conference "AI in Practice: How to Apply AI in our Businesses", to highlight practical applications of AI in the Greek business world to date. The conference attracted strong interest from SEV Members, with the participation of over 1,000 business executives. SEV Member companies presented real examples of AI applications, highlighting the opportunities, challenges and conditions for successful integration.

Building on the momentum, SEV is launching a AI bootcamp in partnership with ALBA business school, a free one-week long program that introduces SMEs to the basics of AI and helps them identify practical application for their business context.

Startups with Greek roots abroad are attracting increasing investment interest, with funding reaching $852 million (source: Marathon VC) in the first quarter of the year. The ecosystem of Greeks in the diaspora is emerging as an important pole of innovation, attracting international investors who are “betting” on their potential. Startup founders of Greek origin are capitalizing on global trends in technology and business, creating companies with strong growth potential. The strong interest of investors is reflected not only in the high amounts of funding, but also in the confidence they show in companies with Greek DNA.

Future brAIn and UniSystems, announced a collaboration with the aim to improve the work environment and enhance employee engagement in Greece, Cyprus and Romania. Future brAIn is an innovative Greek startup that uses AI to analyze and cultivate corporate culture, announce their collaboration.

 

Astrato secured a $5 million seed round led by Big Pi Ventures, with participation from Propelling Tech Ventures and over 30 strategic angels from the global data and analytics community. The funding will support the expansion of its go-to-market and engineering teams while accelerating the development of AI-native features for exploration, automation, and intelligent decision-making workflows.

 

Decode+, the innovative Greek AI startup that has developed dikaio.ai, a personal legal assistant that leverages AI to facilitate legal research and document drafting, has raised funding from Genesis Ventures, but the amount remains unknown. The platform allows users to search and analyse legal texts in natural language, organise personal files and create legal documents.

 

Proptech startup Prosperty raised EUR 5.5 million in a funding round led by Eurobank joined by other investors. The investment is the first step of a strategic commercial cooperation, aiming to provide innovative products and services to the Greek real estate market.

TITAN Group announced its collaboration with Investing For Purpose (IFP), a Greek initiative that promotes investments with environmental and social impact, bringing together investors who want to invest long-term capital with start-ups and companies that create positive returns for society and the environment.

EFA Group to invest EUR 3 million in Acromove. The investment will materialize in the first phase through a share capital increase and is part of the group's plan to develop a new generation of integrated high-tech telecommunications and IT solutions using Private 5G and Edge Cloud. The agreement between the two parties provides for EFA Group's right to acquire a majority stake in Acromove.
