Timos Sellis: Artificial intelligence, data protection & plagiarism
Timos Sellis studied at the National Technical University of Athens, the University of California, Berkeley, did his PhD at Harvard and taught at NTUA, the University of Maryland, and in Australia.
Currently, he serves as the Scientific Director of the Archimedes Research Center, which focuses on Artificial Intelligence. He claims that statisticians have been doing the... same job for many years now and dislikes the term "artificial intelligence"! He believes that the biggest issue in this field is the lack of adequate data governance and explains what problems this may cause.
With Marco Veremis, they discuss the data obtained by Loyalty Programs around the world, social networks, and the ways they affect our lives, as well as ChatGPT. Finally, he self-criticizes as an academic and answers the question: How would you spend your last day on earth?
